Established in 2019, Falanga’s Gourmet Cotton Candy is a woman-owned, family-operated small business based in Rochester, NY — passionate about turning a nostalgic treat into something truly special.
Humble beginnings. It started with one machine, a handful of flavor ideas, and a family willing to spin sugar late into the night. That single machine still sets the standard for every batch we make today.
Every batch is made from scratch in small batches, ensuring exceptional quality, flavor, and consistency — cotton candy as memorable as it is delicious.
We start by flavoring our own sugar (and coloring it where it makes sense), spin it fresh, and cram three cotton candy cones’ worth of sugary superness into every bag. Our large bags hold 3+ times what a small bag does — all soft cotton candy goodness with none of the air. Stored properly, every bag stays fresh for at least 6 months… as long as you don’t eat it first.

When the festivals stopped, we kept spinning.
When COVID-19 shut down every fair, festival, and arena overnight, a small business built on in-person events suddenly had nowhere to go. So we improvised.
We launched Quarantine Blues Buster Sample Packs — one small tub of each flavor, packaged from home — and started running contact-free deliveries all over Monroe County, hanging bags from front-door handles so neighbors could still get a little bit of joy without leaving the house.
The story caught the eye of Spectrum News, who featured Falanga’s in August 2020 as a local maker who refused to stop spinning despite the pandemic.
The moment markets reopened, we were back out — setting up at the Avon Flea Market and the Rochester Public Market the day the shutdown lifted, masks on and ready to spin again.
